In Southern Spain there is a city that was once the capital of Hispania Baetica during the Roman Empire. At present it is well known because of its incredible cultural and monumental patrimony: Cordoba, in the community of Andalusia. Thanks to its historic legacy, the old town of Cordoba was recognized in 1994 as a World Heritage Site (the Mosque-Cathedral and also to all the streets and buildings around it).
In this blog post we show you how the Urban Planning Department of the Cordoba City Council, fulfilling one of the main objectives of providing information to citizens in a simple and comprehensive way, has made use of CartoDB to visualize important data of the area.

Several CartoDB team members were presenting, and now you can enjoy their presentations in the comfort of your home (or whichever place any of your mobile devices allow!).

And what better way to demonstrate this than by inviting those developers who are already using CartoDB to do business to share their experiences using our product?

Today, we’re going to look into publicly available data from Yelp, specifically, from Las Vegas. The data includes reviews on businesses, mostly restaurants, all around the Greater Las Vegas area. We thought this data would be interesting to build our latest installment of Mapping the Invisible. Using this data has some restrictions from Yelp, so we suggest you look over their use agreement before going too deep. But we do think the methods we show you here could inspire you to extract new understanding from your own data.
