A feature of CartoDB that makes it stand out from most other mapping platforms out there is the ability to create maps and build applications on top of data that grows and changes. The dynamic nature of the CartoDB stack is what makes it such a fun and powerful platform for so many of our users. Users that build applications or link CartoDB to their other technology, most often perform these updates and modifications through the SQL API.

Tonight will be one of the biggest GeoNYC meetings to date, with a sellout crowd of 130 mappers joining us at Google.

While we were in San Francisco recently, we were invited to the Exploratorium to take a look at some of the really interesting mapping projects they have on display. If you haven’t been been to the Exploratorium before, you have to go! Their location on the waterfront is really amazing and the space is huge. While there, be sure to walk all way to the back, where there is a room dedicated to many things geospatial. There were maps, interactive maps, and activities to tell you stories about the world around us, it was really inspiring.
